Hi,

Searched unsuccessfully, but working on an 87 GT and doing brakes all around. Brakes have some issues so lots of new parts.

This is a dumb question, but in the front the flex hose is riveted to the upper A arm.

What do you guys do, grind off the rivet and use a short bolt with Loctite for the new hose. I'm keeping it stock, so not going the braided stainless route.

I have a rivet gun, but not sure it will pop rivet one big enough, probably have to head to HD and see what rivets they have.

Thanks in advance.

Typically replacing it with a bolt would be the thing to do.

Melsg5,

Thanks for the confirmation. Weird the way they did it, but i decided to grind it off, just don't trust 30 year old flex lines.

It was probably quicker to install than a bolt on the line, and they may have had a robot doing it. I was called into that plant a few times but I wasn't around the automation, but I do remember seeing a lot of robots on that assembly line for the times.

Yeah, no surprise, I am well familiar with the best way to do something in production, i.e. cheapest and easiest.

Thanks for the confirmation.
