Fiero not starting

Have an 84 Fiero SE, been doing work on it, all new brake and transmission lines, brakes, fuel pump and filter, tune up. I drove it around yesterday for a little bit and then I parked it. A few minutes later I go back to start it again, and nothing, doesnt turn over, not even a click from the starter. It did this before when all the lights, radio, and heat was on and once we turned it off it was fine. Well this time all of that was off and it still wont start, and the starter works because I tested it. Changed the battery and that didnt help. The oil/coolant light on the dash is on (but is has been) could that have an effect?

Try checking if the starting relay is good.

Sorry, that is what happens when you get old (me), you confuse old systems with new. There is no relay.
The starting circuit is quite simple, so apply 12V at solenoid terminal on starter (purple wire)' If that cranks then ignition switch is suspect or clutch safety switch (or auto shifter safety switch). Check that all wire connections are clean and tight.

Yeah, it was the safety switch, the guy I got it from did alot of weird work on it. It had 2 safety switchs, one dangling around (that was plugged in) and the other one actually attached to the transmission. Works now, Thanks!!

It just litterally magically started working, I replaced the pump (I knew that worked) as well as the in-tank wiring. I plugged it all together and started the key but it wasnt pumping gas (I had it outside the vehicle in a jar of gas to test) . The wiring was carrying voltage as I tested it with a volt meter, and I had a tester for the pump and it worked. But for some reason it wasnt working, I even primed the pump so it had gas in it but when I turned the key it didnt do anything. Later that day I came out to try it again and showed my friend and it just started working, didn't mess with anything, it just started working. Magic?
