fiero wont turn over

i have a 6 fiero 4 cylinder 5 speed manual it was makining bad noises when you turned the key i was told it was the bendix i checked it out and found it had one bolt hand tight holding it on so i pulled it off and it parked aginst the exhause and i put it back on with more bolts and it dont turn over anymore? hhhhhhhhhhhaeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllpppppppppppp please!! thanks

typically this could be caused by insufficient clearance between the ring gear and the bendix gear. Any chance when you removed the starter you dropped some shims? When the bendix engages the flywheel there should be enough clearance to slip in a paperclip between the tip of a tooth and the valley that it mates with.
