A few days ago my car (99 Firebird V6), started dying on me while driving. I thought it was out of fuel (I was low at the time), but was still slightly over E. After it died, I was able to start it back up after 2-3 minutes. Started doing it once every other day for 3-4 days. I ended up changing the fuel filter this morning which needed to be changed. Started heading to work, and after about 3-4 miles, it started to sputter a bit when I would go over 60, then pulling into the parking lot, I hit the gas slightly to come around the corner and it killed it again.

It doesn't die while ideling, and always starts back up fine after a few minutes. As long as I don't gas it over 60, or gas it as if Im trying to pass somebody on the road, I don't have problems. Anybody have any ideas of what it could be? Thanks in advance. I'm dreading it being the fuel pump going out, but any other ideas? Only drove it 5 miles since changing the filter, and had the battery d/c for about an hour while doing it.

sounds like pump
