firebird to camaro engine swap?

is it possible to swap a 3.1 from a 94 camaro with a 3.8 out of a 96 firebird?
i have everything for the 3.8 cuz the firebird got totaled but the engine tranny and everything mechanical is still functioning. will i have to replace the electrical harness or will i just have to swap computers?

Yes, it can be done. But it will take more then just the engine.
The biggest problem is that in some states such a swap (older to later model) would be illegal unless you find a way to use a newer ECM that meets the requirements for the year installed. The 94 may not have all the right sensors or a place to install them.

You will need the computer and harness from the 96. the 94 is obdI and the 96 is obdII.
