First gen sump removal

Can you remove the sump from a 400 engine with a TH 400 auto box by any means without taking the engine out ??? Its in a 67 Firebird & I need to change the oil pump

You may have to remove one or both motor mount bolts and raise the engine.

Has anybody tried this , ? will the bell housing not hit the tunnel ?
