First True Muscle Car, 1964 Pontiac GTO 389/421, First Intermediate Car with Big Car engine. Roger Huntington first to write that the 1965 Pontiac GTO was a "Super Car" in 1965! The Monkees (Hit T.V. Series), featured a Customized 1966 Pontiac GTO, with Blower. Mike Nesmith of the Monkees said, "We always drove new GTOs", "they were Fabulous True Muscle Cars in every sense of the word".
Popular Science July 1970 issue, article " The Supercars for the 70's are here", states cars; 1970 Pontiac Firebird 400, 1970 Dodge Challenger, and 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator are Super Cars.
Cars Magazine April 1973 issue, article; "Top Performance Car of the Year", states that Pontiac invented the Super Car in 1963 and ten years later emerges as its exclusive producer. Referring to the 1964 Pontiac GTO, and 1973 Pontiac GTO.

Motor Trends Car of the Year- February 1965 issue, was pretty well all of the Pontiacs built in 1965!
 
While I agree with everything you posted, is there a question in there somewhere? ;)

Oh, and Robert: The Corvette was never a muscle car. The term came from a mid sized car with a full size engine. The Corvette was a sports car, but really in a category of its own when the really big motors came into play. And the hemis came later...
