Normally I'm the type to search first, and I did do a couple of Google searches... I'm on a lot of forums and I know the routine...

I CANNOT figure out where the flasher relay is in my 92 Sunbird Coupe. I'm expecting the plug-in type relay in the fuse box and it isn't there, and I see a few relays under the hood and none of them have any identification markings.

I'm guessing it may be on the column and I need to take the cover off, but the one manual I have (I think it's a Haynes manual but the cover is missing so i don't know for sure) doesn't tell me jack.

Thanks!
Ravie

did you look at the left hand side of the steering column attached to a clip?

Welcome to the forum:)
Its either on the right or left side of the steering column on a circular clip. Fish around in the area with your hand on both sides. The cover under the column just unsnaps. ( held in with 4 clips)

I'll look tomorrow. I found a circular relay and a box-type relay behind the fuse-box and it seems like that is all hazard-related. yes? I had the column cover off and did not see one there.

Once I've got daylight again tomorrow I'll tackle it. I'm tired of blinking by hand!

Thanks,
Rav

I absolutely can not figure this out. There's a panel behind the fuse box that holds two relays. One which is a two-prong little guy that is obviously in charge of hazards because I can put my finger on it and feel it clicking when I turn the hazards on. However, there's a white box relay right next to it that I can't tell what it does but I believe it's a 3 prong. I pulled the cover and cleaned the contacts but that did nothing.

As far as the steering column area goes...I see nothing there in the way of a flasher relay.

Grr.

Pics of the hazard fuse and the white box fuse, and also a picture of my column area with the cover off. And apparently the forum won't let me upload pictures even though they are the right size. Grr.

Ravie, just went outside to see where it is ..........Its located to the right of the steering column under the heater control/ upper console interior plastic.

Its hidden good ,cause I cant even see it but can hear it. Looks like you have to take stuff apart ( lower heater interior plastic and/or the upper console plastic - where the factory CD player would of been). Big metal bracket is in the way to see it from under the column.

In your first pic.....that big rusty metal bracket on the right ........... its on the other side of it .

All I can say is .....................have fun !:p

Doooouuuggg! You fricken win, my friend. Seriously, if I could buy you a beer.. What in the H E double hockey sticks were those engineers smoking? Yeezuss.

New one is in, and the blinkers work just fine like they should.

It's SICK how excited I am about it...

Now onto the cooling system. Mr 2.0 is about to meet my friend Muriatic Acid. Tomorrow.

Next time I've got the driver seat out on mine I wanna lay down and spend some time looking under my dash. My innerds seem to dangle freely since you can't really get at things worth a [bleep] under there. Maybe I can see where stuff should be located. Maybe even take pictures. lol
