What's up guys? I hava a problem. I have a 1967 Lemans Coupe. I have been doing an ongoing restoration on my car for about 3 yrs now. I changed my front brakes to disc brakes and upgraded the braking system to a power brake system. Now, my problem is, that when I now step on the brake pedal, the brake light on the instrument panel flashes and the brake lights flash. What could be the problem? Thanks for the help.

that sounds like an electrical problem unrelated to converting to disks and power brakes. Did you do any changes to the wire harness over the last 3 years. It almost sounds like your brake circuit is wired through one of the flashers, turn or 4 way.

I put in a new turn signal switch, but I did that about a year ago, and I don't remember there being anything wrong when I tried the turn signals, ect. Other than reattaching all the wiring for the rebuilt motor, I haven't done anything to the brakes, or hazards. It surely is puzzling me. Hope it isn't a bad turn signal switch or something-it seems that all lighting goes thru that one switch!

pull the flashers and step on the brake and see what happens

Pulled the flasher relay 2day. Just as you said, the brakes worked perfectly. Don't get it though. Only problem now is that the hazards don't work. The turn signals and brake lights all work perfectly. Guess I can deal with that until I figure what might be wrong. Could the turn signal switch be wired wrong? I bought the switch from Chicago Muscle, but hey it is electrical, anything could go wrong. I think the relay I pulled is a new one- think I bought it when I was trying to figure why my turn signals weren't working right. Could the relay be bad?

any chance you kept the old relay? it has to be something you changed since I believe you said you didnt have the problem before.

At least I'm not sure if I had the prob b4. Has to be the turn signal switch.
