• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... A new guy here...like the man said, I thought I was a fungi, but my wife said I was a scum bag...jikes!! Any way..I just picked up an 89 GTA in Florida this week..brought it home here to Michigan.. I'm floored to see a car that old with no rust..sheesh...anyway..I've been turning wrenches for about 40 years. I'm still a certified technician, but don't do it for a living...

I'm gonna need lots of advice from you guys on this car..I bought it for my 16 year old daughter, and she has already named it "Jackson"..go figure.

It's red, fawn interior, and T-tops. I already put U-joints and ball joints on this baby. I just want it to be a safe driver for the kid...

Needs paint and TLC real bad.

Any thing else I should look for..??? How are the brakes on these cars..powerful, or weak ??

I'll have lots more questions for everyone...thanks

JACKSON?! Where'd she get THAT from?! :p

Sounds like you picked up a REALLY nice car! I had a 90 Trans Am - never a GTA.. Post some pictures when you get a chance... If I remember correctly, I never had a problem with the functionality of the brakes.. Those old f-bodies were very easy to drive...
