I am new here HELP please. My daughter has a 01 sunfire 2.2, no power options. I found a ground wire fried going into the BCM 2 yrs ago and replaced both the best at the time. I just replaced the engine and was trying to scan for codes since it was a little ruff came back with connection error so I looked at the BCM again and the ground had started to melt once again. I have not been able to find the diagram without paying $$ to HELMINC for a factory manual. So here I am! I also noticed the drivers side brake light socket was melted some so I replaced it. I appreciate any help.

Thank you,

Don

Is your question why the ground is melting? Havent seen it myself but is it clean and paint free? Have you checked the alternator voltage output?

I have not checked the alternator output yet. today when re-connecting the negative cable to the battery it sparked so I hooked a test light up and connected to the battery and then the cable it lite up. so tried pulling fuses and the only one that turned the light off was the instrument cluster. tried starting car without this and no go.

BTW Thank you for the response.
