I just replaced my front pads and rotors. The inside pad had worn out, but the outer had not even gotten 1/4 of the way to it's wear and no where close to the squeak tab. So, I mounted the pads with the tab on the inside. Will the wear indicator still make noise or does it depend on which way the rotation goes against the tab?

This is how it's set now...

...the rotation going with the tab.

...or does it need to go against the tab to make noise?

Are you the first person to do the brakes? Is the caliper mounted towards the front of the car or towards the back of the car?

naw. it's been done many times. Before this time it was mounted on the outside position, which didn't wear. I mounted them on the inside this time. should still make noise, so should be fine.

Just my .02 I keep the wear indicator on the inside as well ,the rotation of the rotor does not matter.
