I am having problems with my heat and during this time of the month I need heat. I turn it on and you can hear the fan working but it's not blowing any air into the car, even on high. I can't figure out where the air is going. This is a big prblem for me right now, because I can not defrost my front window. Now recently the fan in now not working.

I have another problem with the engine. I would be driving and I'd step on the gas and it would rev but the car wouldn't go anywhere. I would then put it into park and back into drive and it would be fine, sometimes I have to put it into park, turn off the car and put it into drive. This seems to happen more when it is cold outside, but has happened occassionally during warmer weather. Does anyone have any ideas?

car problems

hi it sounds as like you are having a difficult time with your car. it is very hard to tell you what the problem is, without being there to check things. first, air blown through the heater comes from the outside via air inlet grilles. they are just below your wiper, under the piece that is the same color as the rest of your car. they may be plugged.second, heater core-it provides the hot air for your car, if it is plugged you will have this kind of problem.third, your heater system uses mode and temp valves to switch from floor, defrost, etc. and they operate from the vacum your car provides.what you need to do is eliminate these one at a time. it is time consuming and frustrating (believe me i know) but it may be an expensive fix. check other things too, like strength of coolant and thermostat operation. all these things will provide better heat for you.as for the transmission, well first thing i would do there is flush and fill-which includes changing the filter. it may be the cure for that.this is just a broad bunch of statements from reading your post quickly. hope these may be of help

Air flow fix

I had this happen on my 93 sunbird. I could hear the fan blowing and even replaced it but no luck. I finally found out that the block heater fins(I think thats what they are) on the firewall were blocked not letting any air through.
I took off the blower fan and stuck my arm down the air tube and with a light wire brush I cleaned the fins. You need small hands. I sprayed some cleaner and blew it out with compressed air. Now I can finally see where I'm going in the winter. Just like new.
