Well. Pulled the wire and there is no resistor added in the wire. So I can only assume the resistor/resistance is built into the ignition switch. I cannot believe GM used the wire size for the resistance drop from the ignition switch to the block at the firewall. All the wires coming out of the ignition switch are the same size - looks like all 20 gauge. I tried using the choke solenoid as a 12V source but its connected to ignition-1 power position - which does not receive power when in ignition-2 (starting) position. When tested during ignition-2 position the choke solenoid was only getting 300MV. I also tried the power lead to the wiper/washer and this power seems to also be connected to ignition-1. I see 12 volts at ignition-1 then drops to 300MV when in ignition-2 (starting position.) Frustrated . . I am going to open up the ignition switch. More to come.
