will a fuel pump from a 98 Sunfire fit a 2001 Sunfire tank?

The part numbers for the pumps are different and the tanks are different numbers. You would have to visually compare them to see if it would attach to the 2001 tank. Have you considered putting the correct tank in the car, you can find them here.
