I am helping a friend try to get his car out of a Jack in the Box parking lot a long way from home, been out there once and the car turns over fine but does not fire at all.
I checked spark and air, but can't see obvious fuel lines and didn't get a chance to jack the car and look for the filter. He doesn't have his haynes manual and has to work during the day.

Is there an easy way I can check fuel getting to the engine?
I read on fuel filter replacement how-tos to use this fuel pressure checker to bleed off fuel pressure. Is the valve it connects to something easier to get to to see if fuel is getting to the engine?
Where is it?
I saw this thing that looked like an air valve on top of the engine, thought it might be it. It sticks out towards the passenger side and looks like a hose should be screwed onto it but there are no unconnected hoses around.

Also, I'd like to check the fuel filter if fuel isn't getting to the engine. Where is it?

I remember on an old Toyota I had, there was a place I could bridge the connection to the fuel pump to force it to run. Came in real handy trying to see if it worked. How can I test the fuel pump on this thing?
Going out to see the car again today, help is very appreciated!!!

the valve is on the fuel rail, attach a pressure tester. You should hear pump kick in when the key is turned to on but not cranked.

Thanks.
No sound at all coming from the fuel pump.
Usually it sounds like a pretty decent hummm
We are assuming that is the problem.
Until next time!
