Fuel tank problem on 2004 Pontiac...

...Sunfire? The last two times I filled my tank, gasoline came pouring out right after I released the gas pump. The first time it happened, my tank was nearly empty before I filled it. I have no idea what is going on with the gas tank. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? What can I do?

if you over filled it, it might have came out the overflow tube other wise id say a hose is off or you have a leak in the tank somewhere,that's not normal for one to do that ,unless there's a hose off or it has a small hole in it,you need to have that checked,it could just be the over flow pipe on it but still have it checked to be sure,good luck with it.

Maybe you ran over something or bumped your fuel pipe and it's kinked or something.
