Gas caps

Has anyone ever put on a new gas cap, which I should have checked before I did anything else, but as soon as I did, all of a sudden half my fuse box exterior and interior there's no power to half of it

Why would a gas cap have anything to do with an electrical system? Every time you fill the car with gas you remove the cap.

I was told by chev, that the filler tube to your tank probably has a ground underneath, I was just wondering if it was true
