gas filler tube flap

I have from time to time a check engine light that onstar reports as a gas cap problem. on 2008 torrent awd when I look at the gas fill tube i notice there is no inside flap like my other two gm vehicles Did the torrent have one? or could the gas cap just be bad thanks
