I don't know if its coincidence or I touched something . Later clean the battery terminals every thing normally work except the Gas Gauge move erratic, sometimes mark half tank or full, does not stand still needle. What's going on? Thanks

Could be a bad ground connection, check the negative cable.

I just check/clean again both connections. Now it seems (maybe) that the needle moves somewhat less, but not stand still. Some days ago at gas station I overfilled the tank (when $17 were sufficient I completed the $20). Is possible that this is related?

I suppose overfilling will push up on the float but I thought you said the problem started with the battery cable clean up.

I noticed it after wiping the terminals but I don't know if the problem was already before. If is the float problem, this will correct itself gradually?

Have no way of knowing if the float is damaged

Dont worry girl! Mines doing the same thing. I have a 2008 Montana and it reads half for days and then empty for days and so on.... cant even clock the mileage and use that to be a guide for the next gas station. It blows!

could be coincidence. as i understand it the stepper motors around this year were not exactly top of the line. I recently popped the instrument cluster out and welded in new stepper motors for the gas and temp gauge and haven't had any problems since.
