Gas Pumping Problems

Hello everyone....I have a problem with my 2001 SUNFIRE...whenever I am trying to fill it up with gas....The gas pump just stop as if it is full....Even if I just started pressing the trigger...I tried putting it all the way in and even just half way through, but its always the same thing...Can someone shed some light in my situation? This just started happening recently...Thanks so much!

have you ever had anyone try to steal your gas?

Might take a look inside the filler neck to see if there is a rubber hose inside it.
Typically cars will allow a thief to stick their hose into the filler neck, but there is a catch inside that prevents them from pulling the hose back out.... so the only other option is to push it in, put the cap on so that no one suspects anything.

The problem sounds like the gas is backing up and trigering the fuel pump to stop.
That indicates that there is either an obstruction or the filler hose is pinched/ colapsed.
