Gasket Job

Hi Everyone,

I am going to tackle a 2003 Montana Head/Intake and valve cover gasket replacement (Losing Coolant and exhaust bubbles in the coolant). While I am in there, I plan on replacing the plugs, wires, thermostat and upper o2 sensor. Is there anything else I should consider replacing while doing this? Also, if you have done this job, give me any advice you may have.

Also, what is the best way to clean up all the carbon on the heads and manifold?

personally on an engine that is 10+ years old, I would send the heads out to a machine shop to check the condition of the valves, seats, and flatness of the heads. Intake, if it's really built up a dremel.
