Hi,

I have a 2006 Torrent. Last night when I parked in the driveway and turned off the ignition, all of the dash indicator lights went haywire, flickering and then turned off. I thought nothing of it. This morning the battery was dead. I purchased a new battery and put it in. As soon as I connected the terminals, there was all sorts of clicking noises coming from the electrical components and what sounded like the starter (or solenoid). The dash was going crazy again, but I managed to start the vehicle and it sat idling in the driveway for 5 minutes with no issues. I turned it off, took out the key, stepped out the vehicle and IT TRIED TO START ON ITS OWN! This happened a couple of times, and the clicking noises continued intermittently. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery a couple of times, but the same issues keeps happening. Can anyone solve the "ghost" in my machine?

Just a guess, bad ignition switch.

Hi,

It could be, however, I took it to the shop and one of the electrical guys checked it out. The cover was missing from the fuse panel/box next to the battery, and as such the connections had all corroded. Therefore, there was alot of clicking going on within that fuse panel/box which in turn was affecting the ignition and other things. They've ordered a replacement, so we'll see if that's the issue.
