Well the montana finally succumbed to the head gasket. With a lot of miles(190k) and a slipping tranny it was time to retire her to the bone yard. Served me well for 4 1/2 years.
Went to the dark side in replacing it, Toyota highlander . Kids are grown and all driving so no need for another minivan, plus the highlander meets my needs for my side work.
Good luck with the new wheels. Sounds like a good time to let it go. Very sharp looking van. Definitely looks like it was taken care of .
It's starting to sound like everyone with this van is having head gasket problems. My uncle retired his 97 Montana that looked identical to yours at 155k . Don't know anything about the transmission problems. That is one area that GM seems to have a very good reputation. At least in the 4 speed autos from what I hear.
