Grand am rpms don't come down fast

My 2000 GA 2.4 eng. rpms don't come down fast when foot is of gas pedal but does run fine, any suggestions out there? Thanks

Have you looked at the throttle cable where it connects to the throttle cable for corrosion or dirt?
Have you cleaned the throttle body?

I used spray cleaner on top side of t body, cable looked ok on spring ,is original cable I am original owner . thanks
