Just bought a nice grandville, 1974 perfect condition with a dash bezel that was ruined to put a new radio . I ordered another bezel with a original am radio from ebay.

Having trouble with the am radio. Need help........ The original speaker wire coming from the dash fits perfect into the radio, the power , harness plug fits perfect into the radio also. I get the light on the radio to come on, but no sound.

I assume you connected the antenna, did you test the radio before installing it? Could be a bad radio or a bad speaker.

Yes, I did,, if i touch the tester to the resistor the speaker crackles so i know it works. I must have a bad radio... i ordered another...we shall see if that works. It has a yellow and a grey wire.. i have been told the yellow is power.. the grey is accessory.. when i hook it up to power the light comes on when i touch the power to grey..

you are doing this without a voltmeter or a test light? just experimenting touching wires together? what are you using for ground if you have only two wires?

it does not have a ground wire . It came with a harness that has yellow wire and grey wire. I assume the ground is the antenna. when I hook that up the radio lights up. When i disconnect the antenna it shuts off.

the yellow and grey came with the radio you bought but what about the harness for the radio that came from the factory, is the connector still there?
