• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hey all. I'm not new to Firebirds as this is my second one.
My first Firebird was an 82 with t-tops, V6. Nothing special just your everyday ordinary run of the mill firebird but it was fun to drive.

The current model is an 86 TA with T-tops ( I sense a trend here).
This one kinda fell in my lap. The body is very clean, only rust (that I can see right now) is above the windshield. I got her with no motor or transmission, interior is a bit rough but I plan to totally restore her to look like a GTA.

My first goal is to put a motor and trany in her and get her on the road so I can see what else I need to do.
I'm getting small things for her now like the stereo control steering wheel pad that I think I will need to figure out how to wire in (unless Pontiac put the harness in the column).
I plan to add some pictures as soon as I get them online.

My second goal is to make her a real sleeper. I would like to build a small block 350 pushing out 500 HP and bolt it up to a Corvette 6 speed manual turning a possi with 390s. That should put her in the 220 MPH top speed range. Do I need that much speed? NO WAY but it would be fun to know I have it if I ever need it.

Third goal is to freshen up the body with a paint job and GTA badges. I have already decided that I will use the Burgundy color but I will need to find the paint codes.
More to come soon.
