If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Greetings all,

Just dropping in with my 74 Catalina to say hi. I've had her now for 8+ years and still haven't done anything i planned to do :(

I guess that's just how life goes. Nonetheless, I look forward to getting info I may need and seeing others projects.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. She has the 3 doors/rows. It was a funeral home car and definitely turns heads when i'm on the road. Hopefully I can start getting it in the condition i'd like so it can turn even more heads.

Thanks for joining the forum. Looks like it is in great shape. What exactly are your plans?

Welcome! Nice to see another 71-76 B-Body on the forum. If you plan on adding duel exhaust to your car I have an extra 1972 duel hump crossmember if you are interested just let me know.

Thanks. It has it's issues in person though. It sat outside under trees for a couple years and that has taken it's toll. I now have it in a garage so it's doing a lot better. I want to take care of the rust issues along the back window and a couple doors. That aside, just get it running better mechanically. Carb rebuild, needs exhaust manifolds replaced, seats have some tears and carpet is a bit worn. Of course i want to dress it up too. hoping to get some wheels in the coming months. Basically, everything! :D

Right now i have straight pipes from the manifolds but thank you. Once i get new manifolds, i'll have the current set up redone the same. i'll get some mufflers with a little more aggressive tone.

Haha thanks! I found that company back in 2013 and emailed myself the link to buy them. Here we are 2018 and I still haven't. Perfect example of what I said about not doing what I want to this point. I was just debating ordering them last night after replying in my post above.

I do have a question....is there a definitive way to tell if I have D port or round port without taking anything apart?

Thanks

the probability of you having round port is low since it only came with Ram Air and HO engines which did not exist in 1974. Look at the images of the D port and round port center two cylinders and see how much more rounded the round port casting is. In addition call them first to make sure their D port will fit a 1974 B body car.

The 1970 A-body D-port Ram Air Manifolds came on my 71 Catalina so I would think they would fit the 72-76 Chassis as they are basicly the same. I would say 99.9 % chance they are D port heads, if you can read the head codes we can eliminate the 0.1% chance they are round port heads.

Here is a link to IDing your head codes, probably 4X heads.

Also in 1974 only 455 SD heads are round ports, so if you have a 350 or 400 engine will have D port heads.
