Head gasket :/

i need to do the head gasket on my 2.4 do i need to pull the motor to be able t take off the timing chain cover? or can it be repalced without puling the motor. thanks for any help

According to the Haynes manual, you can do it without pulling the motor out, but it it a lot easier to pull it out cause you will have a lot more room to work with.

I just did this exact thing. It is possible, not too difficult, but very time comsuming. A lift is highlt recommended. I would recommend changing the timing chain and tensioner while you are in there. Once you get in there, you will not want to do it again. Also follow your maual to the letter. Getting the timing right and the slack out of the chain can be tricky.
