Headlight help

I just bought an 85 Fiero GT and I'm having an issue with the head lights. For me to get both of them up I have to push the switch slowly and once the headlights activate and come up I then have to push the switch all the way in. If at any point while there opening I push the switch until it locks then the motors stop running. I've replaced the switch. Thank you.

Its not the switch, It is the wire to the motor relay.
There are two seperate ways to raise the headlights.
The light touch you are doing is designed to raise the headlights for cleaning them. Hold lightly then when up you let go and the headlights stay up Push all the way in and the lights come on.

You will be able to download the 1986 Fiero Factory service manual. The wiring and such is nearly identical between 1985 and 1986. Go to the wiring diagram for the headlights and you will see the path I am talking about.
