I have a 2005 pontiac Grand Am Se 3.4 v6. Problem: passenger side headlight very dim. Things I have tried: replaceing bulb, replacing headlight enclosure, Checking all grounds under the hood along the headlight wiring harness. I can not solve this problem and can not afford to have a shop look at issue. Please help if you can?
Thank you.

as asked above what is the voltage reading going to the bulb? what is the ohm reading on the ground connection?

I purchased a multi-meter and fuses for the under hood pannel. I will be testing tomorrow. I think I have a short in the system somewhere based on the symtoms. More imput to come. Thank you for the fast responces.

Problem Solved For now.

So, last week I worked my way into the headlight and checked for corrision in all bulb connections, cleaned them all blew out any dust and it did not make any difference. Today I got into the underhood fuse box and pulled fuse 50 and 51 (headlamp fuses). Neither of them were visibly blown, but just as a percaution I replaced them both after cleaning the connectins. The headlamps are now at least equaualy bright. It bothers me that I do not know what caused the problem, but now both bulbs are reciveing 12.7v when engine is off and 15v when engine is on.

That is all for now and thank you forthe suggestions,
