Just bought an 87 GT, and am trying to resurrect it from the dead,... The headlights will not go up and down.. I have:
1. Rebuilt the motors
2. Bench tested the motors (they work)
3. I have tested for power just before and just after the connector. I have power on BOTH sides of the connector, and BOTH wires!!! This seems wrong to me???

Is this a "Headlight Door Module" problem, or maybe a ground?

Terry

Yes the ground could be faulty. Under the driver side fender is the control module. Either the connector to it is corroded, the ground wire is broke or the module itself is bad. You can just remove the top bolts along the fender and pull the panel away from the body a bit to access it.

The 87-88 Fiero's use the GenII headlight system so if the module is bad you will need to locate an 87 or newer Fiero or Firebird to get another one. (Firebird's use the same module and motors.)

Thanks, I will try cleaning the grounds this weekend.... Maybe that will take care of some of my erratic guage issues as well! Terry

OK, I cleand all the grounds, no luck... Soooo I thought I would take a look at the Headlight door control module.... Looks like the previous owner butchered the wiring, splices and wires cut everywhere. I straightened the wiring out, but only got 1 door to go down... I ordered a used Module from the Fiero Factory for $40. I believe I have that issue solved, now on to the next issue!!!!
