Headlights go out after 30 min of driving on 94 firebird?

I am looking for anyone who has had this problem. I have a 1994 25th anniversary edition Trans Am. I can drive if for appox 20 to 40 minutes, then the headlights just go out then come back on after a few minutes, then go back out and so on.

headlight circuit breaker is tripping. Check all the electrical connections to the lights to look for corrosion.

It could also be the headlight switch, I have had it happed before were the switch heats up enough and the contacts inside the switch warp with the heat. Then when it cools off after the connection is broken the contacts reconnect until they heat back up, and the cycle continues in ever decreasing time spans.

actually I made the assumption that the circuit breaker might be in the switch. See page 6-65 of the owners manual.
