headrest removal

is there anyway to remove a headrest, that will not cost me a leg to buy. i already bought a trim removal kit to help me solve it and i also tried a flat screwdriver with a small knife to uphold the retaining clip.
the picture shows what type of headrest style i have for my van. why i am changing the headrest is to cool my seat down in summer and high fall months. maybe i wont sweat so much idk
