Hello Everyone-
I currently have a 1975 400 in my firebird with 5c heads. The motor runs fine and is in good condition. I assume there was a rebuild somewhere over the years, but is seems to be in stock form.
I would like to do some upgrades for more power. I think the specs are 180 HP with 310 Torque, 7:6 CR. (stock form I think).
Should I look for new heads or rebuild these? I have 3 sets of 6x heads from 77 or 78. I also have a set with an 11 on the side dated code is 1970.
I am not familiar with what a good combination is or if I have to buy a new set.
I would like to get 375 to 400 HP when all is said and done.
I plan to do a complete rebuild at some point.
The block cast code is 481988 date 74.
This will be a street only car just for fun.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
