I have a 2001 Montana van, I am not getting hot air from the heater. The temp gauge shows cold. I had the van winterized. Could the temp gauge be a fuse? As far as the heat goes, a mechanic is trying to tell me it is a head gasket, but there is not water in my oil. The air is warm enough to defrost the windows, and you are not able to see your breath, but not warm enough to keep my feet from freezing.

Temp gauge shows cold? And you have barely any heat? Sounds like a t-stat. Probably not a fuse, since usually there is one fuse for all the gauges.

It could be a head gasket issue, but usually when that is the problem you will have overheating issues. Head gaskets don't always show oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. Sometimes it can be a small enough internal leak that it obstructs coolant flow thru the heater core.

Are you adding any coolant?

I had a 2000 Montana that did not blow good heat , only blew good heat when it was on for a while and when I would hit traffic and also when the temp was not that cold. My problem was that it needed a thermostat but it was a lot of labor to replace due to its location so I never did do it. But my temp gauge did the same as what you are describing , it did not move much , always stayed low on the gauge unless you let it idle for a long while.
