• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I'm new to the forum and have been looking for info on how to get rid of the knocking noise underneath (i think) or in the oil pan area. I'm working on a 67 pontiac lemans with 326. its got the original 2bl carb and recent upgraded to 700R4 trans for freeway driving. Also I recently rebuilt the the steering components and added a front disk brakes with 2 inch drop. I replaced the fuel pump maybe a year ago and it was never there after replacing it (a friend suggested to re-install the fuel pump but wanted to get a 2nd opinion). It is not overheating or i don't see any sign of smoke. i did not run for a while (maybe 7 months or so) since it took me forever to complete the disk brake upgrade. i'm not sure if i damaged my engine. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you do an oil pressure test? What weight oil are you using? How many miles on the engine?

Melgs5 thanks for the reply. My mechanic skills are very limited so I've never done an oil pressure test before but i'll look online for info. I'm using 10w40 oil and its got approx 124,000 miles in it.
