Help! Code P1351 on '03 Grand Am

Car has been having issues for about 2 weeks. Began skipping and hesitating. replaced the spark plugs and pcv valve. Condition continued and replaced the fuel filter. Car still skipped and hesitated on acceleration then the fuel pump went. Replaced that. Still happened and service engine soon light came on, had it coded and it read P1351. Replaced the ignition control module. Problem fixed, right?

Wrong. Intermittent hesitation and skipping and stalling when put the car in drive then would be okay for a while before acting up again. Returned to the shop and had a code to change the coil 1-4. Changed that and checked all wiring to the ICM. Problem fixed??

Wrong. Drove a couple miles and SES light came back on. Coded 1351 again. Took it back to the shop, cleared the codes and drove it with the scanner attached all is well. Car running very well and smoothly Drove another couple of miles and SES light back on again, P1351. UGH!!!

Any ideas on what my next step should be. Almost to the point of just ignoring the SES light and covering it with electrical tape so I can't see it.

I will be very grateful to know if this is fixable and if others have faced the same problems and what they did about it.

Actually it is a 3.4 L, 6 cyl. Could a bad ground cause the thing to stall and hesitate and buck and run extremely roughly, causing SES light to flash. Flashed a bit, then cleared itself but ran roughly after that. When restarted in the morning, it started ok and idled fine but when i put it in gear in stuttered and stalled several times until I finally kept it running long enough and it then kind of corrected itself. Back in the shop now, waiting to hear something....any ideas on what I should do next. I probably should but am not ready to bury this car yet.
 
Have the spark plug wires been checked?
Check and clean all plug wire connections at both ends and lube with dielectric grease?
