I'm not sure where the CMP is on my car and I would like to replace it.
I would also like to know if there are any obstacles in the way of removing the CMP.

Thank you in advance.

What year, which engine and exactly what code do you have?

Check the valve cover, towards front of engine.

Found it and replaced it yesterday, did not fix my idle problem but I guess I have a new CMP.

How many miles on the plugs?
How about the crankshaft position sensor?

So you just got this car and have no idea on the maintenance history?
Remove the plugs and check the gap and condition before buying new ones.
Have you checked the price of the crankshaft position sensor?

I've had the car in my possession for 8 months and has been low idle for the past two months. I will check the gap in my manual and check the gap on the plugs.
