I have a Sony stereo that I want to install in my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire. I pulled it from my Civic and am trying to splice the harness adaptor from the Civic in lieu of the Sunfire harness.

I have located both a wiring diagram for the SUnfire and the Civic BUT:

The problem is that the wiring diagram for the Sunfire shows 2 brown wires and 2 greys. Which one is which...also, I only have 1 yellow wire in the Sunfire and the diagram says I should have 2 ( for Ignition and LR Speaker -)

Can anyone help clarify this for me.

When I wire everything I have a grey, black and brown left over on the Sunfire end and a red with black stripe and a grey with white stripe left on the Civic side of things..

Any help would really be appreciated!

Maybe I can Help. the grey wires are for the right front speaker, the one with the black stripe is the negative. What you are calling brown may be violet, which are the right rear speaker, same deal with the black stripe. one of your yellows may actually be orange, which is for illumination when you turn the lights on (most aftermarkets don't use this one) Black is your ground to frame wire. your left rear wires should be green. Hope this helps.

PS...you will lose all your chimes unless you get an interface. The one I used is made by Scosche, got it at Walmart. the wire harness comes with it, it's stock # is GM2000.
