I have a 95 grand am 3100 series motor, I have no spark, no power to the crank sensor or to the fuel pump. It has been tested by a mechanic and it has him totally stumped! Please i'll take any feedback you have! This did start after the ignition switch was replaced and relearned.
It ran several weeks after it was replaced, it was running when it was driven into the driveway and would never restart again.

Thank You
Denise

is there a security light on the dashboard that is illuminated or flashing while trying to start?

The security light stays on, the engine cranks, no fuel pump no spark from the coil pack. It was driven into the driveway and would not restart. Has new crank sensor, coil pack from a car that was running, changed fuel pump.
Changed the brain from a car that was running, we have done everything we can think of, we dropped the connecters from the body control module. Changed all the fuses under the hood. Seems like there is a kill switch somewhere. Power into the coil pack but wonl't throw out power. It's either the security or a kill switch!!! Motor was rebuilt just about 3 months before this happened to it. I'm a decent mechanic but this has me stumped! Any help would be appreciated! The ignition switch had gone out but was replaced and relearned to the security system that was working fine.

sounds to me like a security problem, how can you change the ecm and expect the car to start without a reset?

The car was running just fine pulled in shut off....dead. By ecm you mean engine control module? What would be done to reset it? Just a shade tree mechanic here not a pro.....

If the security light is on the car thinks someone is trying to steal it. I had a similar problem when my ignition switch failed (computer thought it was being hotwired) so after a lot of diagnosis I gave up and took it to the dealer. $400 later she was good as new. Some things the independent guys just can do so I bet he didn't set something properly after installing the new switch.
