Seeking guidance on what may be leading to the following problems with my 1999 Firebird as well as what the part/part number would be needed for replacement.

Problem #1: Both rearview side mirrors on my Firebird have began to slouch. I can see between the side mirror arm and the door frame that a bracket is broken on the inside. I need to know what this bracket is named as I have not been able to find it simply by searching "side mirror bracket."

Problem #2: My radio and my power windows keep losing power. If one of these items lose power so does the other. They are obviously connected in some way. When I start the car the radio dash will light up and the windows will work and within a few minutes they will randomly turn on and off. What could be causing this? Maybe the Body Control Module?

Problem #3: When my car is running, especially in idle, it makes a horribly annoying rattling noise. It sounds like my exhaust is constantly tapping a bracket. Anybody ever had this problem? Does it seem like a loose bracket to you?

Problem #4: Both of my headlights grind when they are closed, and one of them refuses to come up 75% of the time without a little finger tap. It sounds as if they are trying to close for 5 seconds after they have already closed. Is this due to the circular headlight gears being stripped?

Problem #5: Rear defrost doesn't work, never has since the day I purchased the car used. The button you press to turn it on lights up when pressed for a fraction of a second, but nothing else happens from that point on. Quick fix, or something pricey?

Problem #6: My front blinkers are not working. When I press the lever down the turn signal turns on a stays lit up instead of flashing. I can manually lift the lever up and down and the rear headlights will flash, but the front ones both stopped working at the same time.

Any help would be appreciated. I have had this car for a few years and its time to get her working the way she deserves.

Try www.gmpartsdirect.com or www.yearone.com or a junk yard, but are you describing a part of the mirror itself, if so you need the whole mirror

That is one possiblity, do they share a common circuit breaker? You may want to purchase a factory or hanes or chilton manual.

Hard to answer without being there. Place the car on a lift and check for the source of the noise.

That is the probable cause.

Use a voltmeter to see if you have current going to the defroster.

Are you sure the bulbs arent burnt out?
