I need help! The driver and passenger front seats on my 1966 Lemans are both squeaking. I removed them and sprayed WD-40 on the springs - that didn't help.

Where can I get information on how these seats are constructed and what mechanical parts could be causing the squeaking noise? I went to OPG to ask and they offered to sell me a brand new seat frame and then you have to bring it to an upholsterer to install leather around it.

Any recommendations please? Thanks

My best guess is the squeak is coming from where the springs attach to the frame. Not sure how you’d stop it without complete tear down, though. New springs for the seat and back, foam cushions and burlap for a drivers seat set me back around $600 including upholsterer’s labor last fall. I was able to salvage and re-use the seat cover.

$600 for one or two seats?
