hey just hoping for some help with my fiero off the line if i punch it, it almost dies if i keep the pedal where it is it will keep running and power will kick in within two seconds what could this be? it has done it since i got it and i have put in plugs wires cap and roter pvc valve exhaust fuel filter air filter. also what is everyone doing as far as cooling goes? plzzzz help

are you saying it could be one of those things? if it is one of those problems would be the best way to fixing it?i really dont know what the problem is thats why im asking dont know if its a fuel or compresson problem or spark or what. it has 121k on it. it just doesnt have that much power to it and i dont understand why. this is my first car and im wanting to play with it im also wanting to put a cold air intake on it. i want to keep the v6 in but looking to get a lot more power form it with just basic repair and upgrades.
also are people supercharging them or turbo? also what could be wrong thats robing power that i havent already done?

sounds like you need a basic repair manual for your car. As was suggested above start by cleaning the idle air control and throttle body.

All Fiero's come from the factory with Cold Air Intakes. It gets the air from the vent just behind the drivers door, goes in the bottom of the airfilter then thru a tube to the engine.

As for your bogging off the line, It could be as simple as a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses and also check out the EGR system. The most common problem is the metal tube that goes from the EGR to the upper plenum can develop cracks or the EGR valve itself can leak causing issues as well.

Compression and ignition typically don't cause a bog off the line.

For fuel related issues, If the injectors are dirty or leaking they will spit instead of spray. If your fuel regulator is leaking, fuel filter dirty, or fuel pump is weak that can also cause bogging.

For sensor problems, The TPS, IAC, and MAP sensors can cause issues as well but generally they will turn on the "check engine" light.

Hope this helps
