1996 Grand Am SE four door sedan;

Is there a cabin air filter in this car?
If so;
• Where is it?
• How hard is it to get to and replace?

I've looked in my Chilton manual and haven't found anything on it and I haven't found it on Napa or O'Reilly websites. I'm thinking maybe there isn't one?

I get no hit at the Napa site either. If you have an owners manual it would be listed in the rear section where they cover replacement parts.

Good idea Mel! I often forget about the owner's manual, how much info can be found there. There was no mention of it so at this point, I'm assuming there is none and I'm not going to worry about it until I find out other wise.

Thanks!

I am happy to report that today, after a 275 mile round trip, the car performed beautifully. It started every time, no stalls.

We only got 26.8 mpg out of her, most of the trip was freeway/highway miles. It's performed better, 28 mpg, in the past. I'll be driving it from now on for a while, I'll be checking on it.

I was explaining to my wife the reasons that I always try to top off the tank when I get gas and set the trip odometer at a full tank;

1. I can keep track of the mileage which gives me an idea of how well the car is performing or that it may need attention.

2. I can gauge how full the tank is by the amount of miles on the trip odo, so if the fuel gauge should fail, I know that with a 15.2 (+/-) gallon tank, at 26.8 mpg I can go about 400 miles before I run dry. Yes, if I ran it that tight I'd be calling AAA for a couple of gallons of gas on a lonely road somewhere!

Any way, it's been a beautiful day with my wife and we were reminded how nice that little car can be.

Just thought I'd share.

Thanks.
