i am the proud owner of a '96 Sunfire GT that has recently aquired a rod knock :( . so i will miss driving it for a while. as with most people i didn't buy the sunfire because it was the fastest, or best looking car. i bought i because i could afford it and it wasn't a civic. but it has proven fun to drive and the aftermarket is getting big enough that it should be fun to mod. as a side note i was fortunate enough to be involved in the prototyping of the magnaflo dual exhaust systems for the j-body. so the exhaust system was free. :D

here are some pics:

Welcome! nice car, what rims are those? the black (or gunmetal) on red looks SOOOO good!

That exhaust looks really nice, how does it sound? any gains?

What all aftermarket do you have done?

the rims are ADR Kasai's with a Hyper Black coating. the exhaust is a prototype system developed by Magnaflow. the gains were pretty good up high in the rpm's. around 10hp. the system needs a resonator to eliminate the raspiness that occurs at around 4k-5k. i only had the car back from Magnaflow for 2 days then i got some bad rod knock. lame! right now i just have a rksport wai, pro-kit springs and KYB GR-2's struts.

nice, looks good man, keep up the good work!

What about on a cold engine? how did it sound like a fart can when it was first started after sitting for like a couple hours?

well, since i only had it on the car 2 days before i stopped driving it, i didn't fully break it in. but it was still raspy after driving it for a few hours. low in the rpm's it sounds great, but higher up it gets raspy. i will add a magnapac resonator to it when i get it running right.
