If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Just a short intro from me to the rest of you. I just found this site this morning while searching for a clue as to why my vehicle will not shift. I put a different 4t65e in my 97 Montana and now it just stays in first. I know that there are a few differet mödels of this trans and need to get a few pointers from someone on whee to look. I have the tools and info in my area as I am the manager of a Army MWR Auto Skills Center in germany. I júst can not find the info for the transmission anywhere again. thanks in advance and I will keep this site in mind for the future.

Hi Larry from Germany. I spent 3 years in Wiesbaden. Best time of my life over there. You swaped the 65e for a different version? Did all the wiring match? the e stands for electronically controlled shift points along with a few other things . Your transmission isnt going to respond to the PCM unless all the wiring was same, The PCM selects the shift points for tranny and unless there on the same page your gonna have trouble.

I already have trouble

Thé trans is a 4t65e but I think the internal harness is different. I have the old one and a multimeter so today I will compare and adapt the wires around so I can get the signal to the correct place in the PCM. I have done it once before and could just not remember the correct to move the wires around.
