i have a 01 sunfire with a 2.4 engine i replaced the tp sensor and vacuum lines. the car still revves high. what could be the problem.

vacuum lines?
dont know a bunch about that car or engine but im sure there are a lot. and theres no reason to replace them all. a vacuum leak is usually the case for a high rpm at idle. check the idle speed control. does it sound like you have a vacuum leak? get a can of carb clean or brake clean and spray aroung seals for the manifold and all the vacuum lines, anything that has to do with vacuum. if engine sound changed or speeds up, try to narrow down what it is thats leaking. you can try cleaning the carbon and crap off the throttle plate too.

hello canada its nice to meet you
if you are having high rpm's on the idle gauge you would have a faulty (TPS)
a.k.a. throtle position sensor they arent much between the 40 - 80 dollar maker i beleive hope that helped good luck T_E

sory about that i didnt see that you had already replaced the tps
if it is still running high idle you can also check to see if you have a vacume on the throtle cable located near the intake it can wear out over time and not return to its true idle postion hope i helped good luck T_E
