hey... i tried using the highbeams on my sunfire the other night and they would not function. The lowbeams still work but turn off when the highbeams are on, which make things kinda dangerous when drivin at night. I checked the bulbs they are good, so then i looked at all the fuses and they are all good and functioning properly. i replaced the main switch that operates the lights as i was told this was an issue on some of these cars. I was just wondering what else generally goes on these vechicles when the highbeam are not working... thank you

if you have the owners manual, check for a headlight relay location

you wouldn't happen to know where i could find something online to help me out with location of the relay?

I just found my High/Low bean problem... After looking everywhere for wire problems and checking every fuse and relay I could not figure out why my High/Low beams did not work.

I was to the point where I was about to change the entire switch which is a big job requiring the removal of the steering wheel. I even purchased the switch and had eveything laid out, I was able to unplug the two connectors from the back side and plug them into the new switch to find that the problem was NOT the switch... So I start following the harness...

Under the battery I found one large connector that was rotted/corroded from battery acid. The connections where all corroded and this was the cause of my issue...

So check the wire harness connector under your battery... I would not be surprised to learn it was corroded just like mine...

Good luck.

Any thoughts if this could cause the same problem for the foglights?
