HO Heads or performance aftermarket?

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum and to T/A's really, so I'm looking for some advice. My father-in-law has a 70 T/A that he dropped a 67 428 into a few years back. He had is .060 over and stroked. Motor was balanced etc. Well he now has it in a shop getting the body done and should be done in a month or 2, but the motor has been sitting in his garage for 2+ yrs. He is ready to go thru the motor and make sure everything is in order with it before we get the car back so we can get it running.

My question is : he has the 428 with the HO heads on it. He is wondering if he should keep these heads on it and have them ported/polished? Or if performance heads are the way to go? He obviously wants the best HP gain for his money.

Any ideas???

A head design that is 44 years old even with porting and polishing will not equal a current aftermarket design.

Yeah that's kinda what I figured, but thought I'd make sure and ask some people that knew these cars. What's a good head for this car?
